NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 16 – Zimele Asset Management yesterday introduced a new digital administrative and investment solution for chamas.
The new product, dubbed ‘Zimele Chama Manager’, allows members to control finances as well as lucrative investment returns.
Users will also get SMS alerts whenever they send contributions to their accounts.
Zimele says the platform is anchored on its savings plan in the Zimele Unit Trust, which is licensed by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA).
Through the platform, members can access the chama account statements as well as individual statements.
Its launch coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary celebration.
Speaking at the event, the organization’s chairperson, David Ndii, lauded its progress, adding that it sets precedence for how chamas should be managed.
”This company is here to stay. We will be proud of what we hand over to the next generation and all who are involved in this ecosystem,” he said.
On his part, Zimele CEO Isaac Njuguna said the company seeks to scale up its products in a bid to empower Kenyans.
”Today marks another great milestone for Zimele where we are excited to enhance our product offering to chamas, which are a powerhouse in economic empowerment for Kenyans,” he said.
