NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 22 – The AAR Insurance has appointed Caroline Munene as the Managing Director effective January 1, 2015. She will oversee the positioning of the company as a leader in the medical insurance category.

Prior to her appointment Munene was the General Manager AAR Insurance Kenya.

AAR Group Chief Executive Officer, Geoffrey Nzao said the company is leveraging on Munene’s success in growing the insurance arm after AAR evolved into two independent companies that includes AAR Healthcare and AAR Insurance coupled with over 20 years experience I the insurance industry.

“Her experience will grow AAR in the market and leverage the business relationships in the industry,” he added.

Munene is currently the Director of Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIA), Member of the board at Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) and the chairperson of the East African Insurance Institute Association (EAIIA).

She holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) – Marketing option and is currently pursuing her PhD.

Speaking after her appointment Munene expressed her optimism in the upward growth of the company from offering only medical Insurance to offering even non medical insurance.

“AAR Insurance is a known leader in healthcare and in new entrant into the insurance business, however we have seen significant growth of the brand in the insurance business, with the impressive growth pattern, I am looking forward to leading the brand into the next level in growth of up to 100 percent in the next three years,” she said.
