KPC names Mwendwa acting MD after Sang arrest

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 3 – Kenya Pipeline Company has appointed Pius Mwendwa as acting Managing Director following the arrest of MD Joe Sang.

In a statement, the board said Mwendwa, who serves as General Manager for Finance, will take over the role on an interim basis to ensure continuity of operations.

The board noted it is monitoring developments surrounding Sang and other officials and is engaging relevant authorities to understand the allegations.

Chairperson Faith Bett-Boinett said the company’s operations remain stable and unaffected.

The move follows investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations into alleged fuel supply irregularities in the energy sector.
