BANGKOK, March 31 (Xinhua) — Microsoft plans to invest 1 billion U.S. dollars in Thailand from 2026 to 2028 in cloud services and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, the Thai government said in a statement Tuesday.

The investment includes developing digital skills of the Thai workforce, the statement said.

Information technology spending in Thailand is expected to reach approximately 1.1 trillion baht in 2026, up 8.36 percent year on year, thanks to massive investments in AI infrastructure, according to business tech and insight firm Gartner’s forecast.
