Russia’s online retail sales surge 28pc in 2025

Domestic online stores and digital platforms continued to dominate Russia’s e-commerce market, accounting for 96.2 percent of total online purchases, while cross-border trade made up 3.8 percent, said the report, citing data released by the Association of Internet Trade Companies.

MOSCOW, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) — Russia’s online retail sales rose by 28 percent year-on-year in 2025 to 11.5 trillion rubles (150 billion U.S. dollars), TASS news agency reported on Thursday.

Domestic online stores and digital platforms continued to dominate Russia’s e-commerce market, accounting for 96.2 percent of total online purchases, while cross-border trade made up 3.8 percent, said the report, citing data released by the Association of Internet Trade Companies.

In 2025, online retail accounted for 18.8 percent of Russia’s total retail turnover, up from 16.2 percent in 2024.
