KUCCPS advertises CEO post as Wahome’s term nears end

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 8 – The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced a search for a new Chief Executive Officer to replace Agnes Mercy Wahome, whose tenure is coming to an end.

In a public notice published in local dailies, the universities placement agency said interested candidates have until October 28, 2025, to submit their applications.

Applicants must have at least 15 years of relevant work experience, hold a master’s degree from a recognized institution, and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution, among other qualifications.

“The Chief Executive Officer is responsible to the Placement Board for the day-to-day running of the affairs of the Corporation including implementation of the Board’s policies, programmes, and strategies in accordance with the law and government policy guidelines,” KUCCPS said in the advert.

Wahome’s term is expected to end next year, having been appointed to the position in 2021.

In 2023, the Office of the Ombudsman faulted KUCCPS for charging students Sh25 per SMS to access college and university placement results.

Its preliminary investigation found that the agency’s website did not provide free access to placement information or alternative options, forcing students to rely on the paid SMS service.
