Jaza eyes nationwide growth with new store hunt

NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 12 – Low-cost retailer Jaza is seeking new store locations as part of an ambitious expansion plan to increase its presence across Kenya

Founder Willy Kimani told the Capital FM Morning Radio Show that the company is scouting for spaces between 3,000 and 5,000 square feet, with a goal of reaching 37 outlets—up from the current 20.

“We are heavily looking for sites anywhere between 3,000 to 5,000 square foot kind of stores in the neighborhoods because you want to be in the neighborhood,” Kimani said.

Launched in December 2023 with its flagship outlet in Nairobi’s Buruburu, Jaza has since opened 10 additional branches in areas including Gachie, Kayole Mihango, Kayole Soweto, Chokaa, Githurai 44, Imara, Pipeline, Utawala, Langata, and Mombasa Road.

The retailer also offers e-commerce services via a WhatsApp platform to cater to customers seeking online shopping convenience.
