Kenya to showcase innovation, culture and investment at Expo 2025 Osaka

NAIROBI, Kenya, April 15 – Kenya will participate in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan under the theme “Kenya Rising: From the Bottom Up”, aiming to showcase its progress in renewable energy, tourism, trade, technology, and cultural heritage.

The Kenya Pavilion will highlight the country’s economic transformation agenda, rooted in grassroots development and sustainable innovation.

The pavilion is divided into five zones, each focusing on different aspects of Kenya’s identity. These include cultural heritage, trade and investment opportunities, sustainability initiatives, and key products such as tea, coffee, flowers, and nuts. Interactive displays and immersive experiences will allow visitors to learn more about Kenya’s landscapes, communities, and innovations.

One of the key features of the pavilion is Sample Bar Kenya, where visitors can interact with Kenyan music by mixing pre-recorded sound segments, learn about traditional instruments, and create their own musical compositions. Visitors will also be able to sample Kenyan products including tea, coffee, and nuts.

A range of events has been lined up during the expo. Kenya Week Celebrations will begin on June 22, 2025, with a mini-marathon dubbed “Run with Champions” featuring elite Kenyan athletes. On June 23, 2025, Kenya will host the Kenya-Japan High-Level Business Forum, targeting trade, tourism, and investment opportunities.

Kenya’s National Day will be marked on June 24, 2025, with a flag-hoisting ceremony and cultural performances. The President of Kenya is expected to attend as the Chief Guest. The following day, June 25, 2025, a Diaspora Networking Dinner will be held to engage Kenyans living in Japan and surrounding countries on investment opportunities.

In addition, Kenya will host a Flower Day, where visitors can explore the country’s flower industry. Kenya is currently the world’s fourth-largest exporter of cut flowers.

Throughout the expo, Kenya aims to create awareness of its development initiatives, attract international partnerships, and promote its products and services to a global audience.
