Holcim sells 58.6% Bamburi Cement stake to Amsons Group

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 21 – Global cement giant Holcim has sold its entire 58.6% stake in Bamburi Cement Limited to Tanzania’s Amsons Group for $100 million, citing alignment with its core market strategy.

The acquisition, approved by 96.54% of Bamburi shareholders, marks Amsons Group’s formal entry into Kenya’s market.

Managing Director Edha Nahdi pledged to expand into sectors like energy, food manufacturing, and logistics.

This divestment advances Holcim’s focus on innovative and sustainable building solutions while positioning Amsons as a key player in Kenya’s cement industry.
