NAIROBI, Kenya, May 8 – Investments, Trade, and Industry Cabinet Secretary (CS) Rebecca Miano has asserted the government’s commitment to fostering innovation and driving industrial growth.
Miano, who spoke during the opening of the Nairobi Innovation Week, underscored the state’s zeal for entrepreneurial growth in the country.
She emphasized the pivotal role of innovation in propelling Kenya’s industrial landscape forward, echoing sentiments of a burgeoning manufacturing sector poised to unlock employment opportunities.
“A thriving manufacturing sector will yield a bubbling fountain of employment opportunities to the delight of tens of hundreds of our young men and women,” she said.
“Innovation drives entrepreneurship and opens up opportunities for multiple talent holders, rewarding and sustaining them to make a dignified living, “she added.
Miano stressed the imperative of forging tighter linkages between Kenya’s training institutions and the industry to harness the full potential of its human capital.
This marks the 8th edition of the Nairobi Innovation Week, hosted by the University of Nairobi, in a conference anchored on shedding light on an array of aspects, including how to leverage technology in manufacturing.
It has brought together business leaders as well as representatives from the government.
