Local manufacturing of clinker, steel saves Kenya $500 million in foreign exchange

WEST POKOT, Kenya, April 8 – President William Ruto has said that local manufacturing of clinker and steel is saving the country $500 million in foreign exchange that would have otherwise been used to import them.

The Head of State said yesterday after opening the Sh45 billion Cemtech Limited Clinker Plant in Sebit, West Pokot County.

He also said that such facilities have created job opportunities for locals, as well as an array of business opportunities for entrepreneurs.

President Ruto urged local investors to embrace the most efficient technologies available to promote competitiveness.
