LUANDA, Angola, Dec 2 – The World Bank and Angola on Wednesday signed a 250-million-U.S.-dollar financing agreement here to improve the African country’s education and help it fight against poverty in education.
“There is no other direct path to achieving Angola’s future prosperity than empowering girls and boys,” World Bank’s regional director Amit Dar said at the signing ceremony.
Keeping girls in school is the best way to eliminate early marriage and improve education, the official added.
Angolan Minister of Education Luisa Grilo highlighted the partnership between Angola and the World Bank, saying it has promoted the development of education in the country.
