Karuku was previously Managing Director Cadbury Schweppes East Africa, Deputy CEO and Secretary General Telkom Kenya and most recently as President, Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa.
In her earlier career, she held cross functional roles in marketing, production and supply chain management.
She is a Trustee at United States International University, Kenya, was previously a Board member Barclays Bank of Kenya and has until now, been a Non-Executive Director at EABL.
EABL Group Managing Director Charles Ireland said Karuku brings a wealth of experience as an established pan-African business leader both in the corporate and development sectors.
“I am confident that her strategic insights and cross-functional skills will be instrumental in injecting great value in the future growth of KBL business,” Ireland said.
At the same time Ireland thanked the outgoing Managing Director Joe Muganda for his immense contribution to EABL during his stint at the helm of KBL.
Muganda will from Wednesday take over as the Nation Media Group Managing Director and CEO from Linus Gitahi who has taken an early retirement.
Other changes at EABL Include the appointment of Diego Africa President John Ok’eeffe as Director to the Board.
Ok’eeffe appointment follows the resignation of Andy Fennell from the board effective 30th June 2015.
