Diaper maker Softcare Kenya revenue rises to Sh13.1bn

The company’s earnings from the Kenyan market have increased from Sh7.4 billion in 2022 and Sh10.9 billion in 2023, underlining the country’s importance in its regional operations.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 30 – Softcare’s revenue from Kenya rose to Sh13.1 billion in 2025, up from Sh11.7 billion in 2024, continuing a steady growth trend over the past four years.

The company’s earnings from the Kenyan market have increased from Sh7.4 billion in 2022 and Sh10.9 billion in 2023, underlining the country’s importance in its regional operations.

Kenya now contributes about 19 percent of the group’s total revenue, making it one of the firm’s largest markets in Eastern Africa.

Regionally, Eastern Africa accounted for 46.5 percent of total revenue in the period to April 2025, up from 44.2 percent a year earlier, reflecting a shift in sales toward the region.

Kenya recorded the highest share within Eastern Africa, followed by Tanzania and Uganda.

The shift comes as Western Africa’s contribution declined to 39.5 percent, down from over half previously, indicating changing regional dynamics.

Softcare said its revenue continues to be driven mainly by sales in Western and Eastern Africa, supported by expanded local manufacturing across multiple markets.
