Old Mutual partners with Agencify to scale digital insurance distribution in Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 9 – Old Mutual East Africa has partnered with insurtech firm Agencify to strengthen its digital insurance distribution and expand market reach across targeted customer segments in Kenya.

The collaboration will see Old Mutual leverage Agencify’s digital platform to support independent insurance agents, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate the rollout of insurance products through scalable, ecosystem-driven distribution models.

Agencify’s platform automates key insurance workflows, including client onboarding, policy administration, and customer engagement. This enables agents to operate more efficiently while allowing customers to access insurance products faster and more conveniently.

“Working with Agencify will allow us to expand our ability to connect with customers through innovative digital channels, while supporting agents with technology that improves efficiency, service delivery, and market reach,” said Japheth Ogalloh, Managing Director of Old Mutual General Insurance.

The partnership reflects Old Mutual’s ongoing commitment to digital innovation and its broader ecosystem strategy, which focuses on collaborating with technology partners to enhance customer experience and extend distribution reach.

Commenting on the partnership, Ayisi Makatiani, Group CEO of Caava Group and Founder of Agencify, said the collaboration is designed to empower independent insurance agents while enabling Old Mutual to scale efficiently.

“Instead of agents calling, emailing, or running around for statements and quotes, they can now log in on their mobile phones, access their customers, generate quotes, issue certificates within minutes, and have payments reconciled instantly into Old Mutual’s core system,” Makatiani said.

He added that the platform allows agents to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time serving customers and selling insurance products.

The partnership is expected to deepen insurance uptake in Kenya by making insurance more accessible, efficient, and responsive to customer needs.

By strengthening the role of insurance agents as key intermediaries and equipping them with digital tools that simplify distribution and enhance engagement, Old Mutual aims to lower barriers to access, reach underserved segments, and support broader growth in insurance penetration across the country.
