India’s wholesale inflation rises to 0.83pc in December 2025

NEW DELHI, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) — India’s wholesale price index (WPI) rose to 0.83 percent in December 2025, data released by the federal ministry of commerce and industry Wednesday said.

A statement issued by the ministry said positive rate of inflation in December 2025 is primarily due to increase in prices of other manufacturing, minerals, manufacture of machinery and equipment, manufacture of food products and textiles.

WPI Food inflation rose to a flatline in December 2025 as compared to -2.60 percent in November 2025.

The index for primary articles group increased by 1.09 percent from 192.1 in November 2025 to 194.2 in December 2025.

The index for fuel and power group increased by 1.23 percent from 146.5 in November 2025 to 148.3 in December 2025.

The index for the manufactured products group increased by 0.41 percent from 145.0 in November 2025 to 145.6 in December 2025.
