Naivas Marks 35 Years with Nationwide Customer Appreciation Campaign

NAIROBI, Kenya, July 20 – Naivas Supermarket has kicked off countrywide celebrations to mark its 35th anniversary, surprising shoppers with free giveaways and shopping vouchers at select branches across Nairobi and other regions.

The leading retailer rolled out the appreciation campaign as a gesture of gratitude to Kenyans for their loyalty over the years. Customers at popular outlets such as The Curve in Lavington and Medlink in Lang’ata received instant rewards at the tills, while similar events unfolded in branches nationwide.

“I feel so excited. It was amazing—I didn’t expect to get these gifts. I really appreciate Naivas,” said Mary Maculate, a shopper at the Lavington branch.

John Oito, another customer, lauded the initiative, saying it helped ease the burden of household expenses.
“I’ve saved a lot today, courtesy of Naivas. Thanks for the shopping—this goes a long way,” he said.

Now boasting 109 outlets and employing over 12,000 people, Naivas attributes its growth to strong customer support, dependable supplier relationships, and a commitment to delivering quality at affordable prices.

“Everyone is happy—the customers got good deals, and as suppliers, we’re also happy,” said Manish Popat, a long-time supplier to the supermarket chain.

Naivas Head of Strategy Joseph Pertton said the company is focused on further expansion, targeting new regions to bring its unique shopping experience to more communities.

“We will continue to grow our footprint. Where we see opportunities, we will certainly be coming to give the great offering that Naivas does,” he said, adding that several new branches are in the pipeline.

As Naivas celebrates 35 years of operation, the milestone is not just about expansion, the company said, but also a renewed commitment to strengthening community ties and enhancing the everyday shopping experience for Kenyans.
