Bolt cautions against offline trips for festive season safety

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 22 – Bolt has urged drivers and passengers to avoid offline trips during the festive season to ensure their safety, emphasizing the importance of using the Bolt app’s in-built safety features.

Hazel May Omune, Safety Manager for Bolt Africa, highlighted features like trip tracking, identity verification, and emergency support systems, which are compromised during offline trips.

“Offline trips undermine the safety features we have in place to protect our users, such as ride check, access to emergency response, and location sharing with loved ones,” Omune noted.

Passengers have been advised to report suspicious behavior through the app for immediate investigation.

Bolt reiterated its commitment to investing in safety features and awareness campaigns to address concerns in the ride-hailing industry.
