NAIROBI, Kenya, April 14 – Estonia has opened a trade office in Nairobi, targeting growing investment in Kenya’s public and private sectors.
Enterprise Estonia, which will also serve the East African market, will facilitate investments in agri-produce value addition, information technologies, and waste water management, among others.
The office also seeks to enhance export access for local produce to the European market.
‘’Enterprise Estonia is an Estonian institution whose goal is to support Estonian enterprises to do business across the world as well as attracting foreign investment to Estonia,” Estonia Ambassador for Africa Daniel Schaer said after opening the office in Nairobi yesterday.
During the event, eight Estonian ICT companies announced their entry into the Kenyan market.
In three days, the above firms will pitch their products to local companies and government entities.
The companies include Cybernetica, Nortal, Alldevice, Digital Nation, FOB Solutions, Finbite OÜ, Wisercat Software, and ADM Interactive, which offer solutions ranging from industrial maintenance management software to digital advisory services.
Others are front-office solutions, digital transformation services, billing and invoice management solutions, business automation, electronic document management systems, and specialized applications.
“These Estonian companies are experts in developing seamless digital public services that have the potential to drive economic growth and improve the standard of living for the population,” Schaer said.
“Furthermore, the innovative solutions offered by these companies are not only beneficial for the public sector but also for businesses,” he said.
“These technologies will allow companies to save money and establish profitable growth with greater ease.”
Already, firms from the Eastern European country have setup offices in the country, offering services to different entities.
For instance, Spacedrip installed an automated water treatment and reuse system at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, while Mondo is digitizing various subjects aimed at facilitating e-learning.
The CoNurse App, on the other hand, is being piloted at Kenyatta National Hospital, providing voice-guided support that enables experienced nurses to conduct and remember critical, complex, and infrequent procedures.
