Crown Paints, Jambojet to support education, environment

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 16 – Crown Paints has partnered with Jambojet to boost education and environmental sustainability.

The two cooperates have partnered to provide a facelift to Kibos School for the blind in Kisumu. It hosts over two hundred students, the majority of whom are visually impaired.

Jambojet has been supporting the school since 2020, the partnership with Crown Paints will ensure the school structures are repainted and in good condition.

Crown Paints will provide paint and manpower for the project, which targets repainting 16 structures, including 12 classrooms, an administration block, a dining hall, an assembly hall and the gate.

The news comes after the school administration appealed to Jambojet in a previous visit in 2022 to aid in restoring and facilitating the school structures.

Crown Paints Group Chief Executive Officer, Rakesh Rao said that education is key in empowering the community, adding that market leaders need to set the pace in the provision of service to our communities.

‘’We are proud to join Jambojet in this initiative which we believe will go a long way in enhancing the school’s image as well as creating a positive ambience for the special students and teachers to enjoy learning,’’ Rao said.

Jambojet Chief Executive Officer Karanja Ndengwa added that education is one of the pillars of Jambojet’s sustainability program.

Mr. Karanja stated that they had previously supported Kibos for the blind with learning aids including braille machines, printers and braille paper.

‘’We thank Crown Paints for supporting our initiative by providing the much-needed facelift of the school. As the leading player in aviation, our focus in Education aims at reducing the barriers to skill development, aligned with the sustainable development goal,’’ he said.

Jambojet launched its sustainability program in 2016, focusing on Education and Environment. The airline currently supports 5 initiatives in Education, impacting over 50 scholars and 6 industries in Environment across its 7 domestic destinations.
