NAIROBI, Kenya, May 10 – Kenya is expected to outline its priorities on infrastructure, artificial intelligence, climate financing and investment during the African Forward Summit 2026.
The summit, scheduled for May 10 to 12, will bring together African leaders, investors, civil society groups and private sector players to discuss economic growth and development across the continent.
According to Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, discussions will focus on transport infrastructure, energy, communication systems and industrial development through manufacturing and digital transformation.
The summit will also address reforms to the global financial system to improve access to development financing and climate funding for African countries.
Other topics expected to feature include green industrialisation, AI and digital transformation, peace and security, blue economy governance, and strengthening Africa’s health and manufacturing sectors.
The event will also include discussions on sports and the creative economy, including Kenya’s preparations to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and the role of sports in attracting tourism and investment.
The summit will feature several forums, including sessions for business leaders, civil society, youth and innovation stakeholders.
Kenya is expected to use the event to strengthen its position as a regional hub for investment, technology and infrastructure development.
