EABL taps Andrew Kilonzo as new KBL MD

NAIROBI, Kenya, July 4 – East African Breweries (EABL) has named Andrew Kilonzo as the new Managing Director (MD) of the Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), effective September 30, 2025.

Kilonzo will take over from Mark Ocitti, who will be stepping down after a decade at the brewer.

Currently, the new MD serves as the MD for Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), where he was credited with driving strong business performance and operational success.

The change is part of EABL’s strategy to drive up growth and increase market share in the region.

Also returning to the Nairobi office is Yvonne Mwangi, currently the EABL MD for Seychelles and the Indian Ocean. Starting October 1, 2025, she will take on the role of Commercial Director, Kenya.

With over 15 years of experience in commercial strategy and marketing, Mwangi is expected to add fresh momentum to EABL’s commercial drive in its home market.

“These appointments reflect EABL’s strong succession pipeline and our continued investment in leadership development across our markets,” said Jane Karuku, Group Managing Director.

“I am confident this leadership team will steer our performance, deepen market penetration, and champion inclusion and diversity.”
