NAIROBI, Kenya, June 19 – Dubai is shifting its spotlight from luxury to affordability, with tourism officials currently in Nairobi to woo Kenyan travelers seeking budget-friendly holiday options.
The delegation, part of a wider regional roadshow across Africa, aims to position Dubai as not only a high-end destination but also an accessible one for middle-income tourists.
With more than 45 direct flights weekly between Kenya and the UAE operated by Kenya Airways and Emirates, Dubai continues to count Kenya as a key tourism market.
The visiting team from the State Department of Tourism is engaging local travel industry stakeholders to deepen awareness of the evolving Dubai travel experience.
The city now boasts a growing number of one- to three-star hotels and budget-conscious attractions, from the futuristic Museum of the Future to the iconic Dubai Frame, where entry costs less than $13 (Sh1,678).
“We have a lot of new one to three-star hotels that we want to ensure the public is aware of, as well as affordable activities for families,” said Amna Bin Hendi from Visit Dubai.
“Why we’re here today is to ensure that Kenyans know what Dubai has to offer.”
The initiative highlights Dubai’s annual shopping festivals, where global brands like Zara and H&M offer up to 80% discounts, further appealing to budget-savvy tourists.
Dubai has increasingly become a popular choice for Kenyan travelers, especially during holiday seasons.
