KBL Announces Price Cuts on Mainstream Spirits Ahead of the Festive Season

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 19 – Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) has announced a reduction in the prices of its mainstream spirits portfolio, offering more affordable options for consumers as the festive season approaches.

The price adjustments will affect popular brands such as Chrome Gin, Chrome Vodka, Kane Extra, and Triple Ace Vodka. KBL said the new prices, applicable to both 750ml and 250ml bottles, aim to make quality spirits more accessible, especially during the holiday period.

In the new pricing, the 750ml bottle of Chrome Gin and Chrome Vodka will retail at Sh 700, down from Sh 760 and Sh 740 respectively. Kane Extra and Triple Ace Vodka will now cost Sh 680, reduced from Sh 720 and Sh 690.

The smaller 250ml packs have also seen price cuts, with Chrome Gin and Chrome Vodka each priced at Sh 260, down from Sh 290, while Kane Extra and Triple Ace Vodka are now Sh 240, down from Sh 260.

KBL’s MSS Portfolio Manager, Lilian Mbugua, emphasized that the price cuts reflect the company’s understanding of the economic challenges consumers face. “We have made this decision to align with the current economic realities, ensuring that our high-quality products remain affordable during the holidays,” she said.

This move follows a strong financial performance for KBL, which saw a 13% increase in year-on-year net sales for the 2023/24 financial year, reaching Sh 124.1 billion. Spirits and beer were significant contributors to this growth, with spirits reporting an 11% increase in net sales.
