NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 11 – Nairobi Chapel has kicked off a Sh150 million fundraising campaign to establish the LOGOs Education Endowment Fund, aiming to support deserving students across Kenya who face financial challenges.
The endowment fund will build on the LOGOs Scholarship Fund, which has assisted over 1,035 students since 2008 and currently supports 232 students each year.
The shift to an endowment model is intended to secure long-term funding and expand the program’s reach.
Senior Pastor Rev. Nick Korir, an adventure motorcyclist, announced the initiative and revealed he will embark on a six-month “Around Africa on a Motorcycle” journey, covering 40,000 kilometers across 40 African countries to raise awareness and encourage donations.
Rev. Korir emphasized the fund’s importance, noting that financial constraints have sometimes limited the number of students they can support. “Launching the LOGOs Education Endowment Fund will ensure we have a sustainable way to help more students,” he stated.
The motorcycle journey is set to begin in December 2024 and will conclude in May 2025, with bikers from various African nations joining in solidarity to support the cause.
James WaNjeri, a lawyer and former LOGOs beneficiary, shared how the program transformed his life, underscoring the fund’s potential to improve education access in Kenya.
