Intra-region travel remains dominant trend among Vietnamese travelers

HANOI, May 23 (Xinhua) — Intra-region travel remains a dominant trend among Vietnamese travelers, with 64.4 percent of Vietnamese tourists opting for nearby destinations within Asia for their next journeys, according to a report of Outbox Company, a leading market research and data analytics firm specializing in hospitality and tourism across Asia.

According to the company’s recent report on Vietnamese Outbound Travel Trends-Summer 2024, traditional favorites such as South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Singapore continue to be popular choices of Vietnamese tourists, while China emerges as a notable newcomer in the top five preferred destinations.

Despite economic challenges, the country’s outbound tourism market continues to demonstrate resilience and positive growth potential, Vietnam News Agency cited the report on Thursday.

Survey results indicate that Vietnamese travelers intend to venture abroad within the next 12 months, with 79.7 percent planning trips for this summer.
