Visa picks new General Manager for East Africa

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 22 – Digital payments platform Visa has appointed a new General Manager (GM) for the East African (EA) region.

Chad Pollock now takes over from Eva Ngigi-Sarwari, who has been in the position in an acting capacity.

Ngigi-Sarwari will continue to occupy her position as Kenya Country Manager.

The tech company says that Pollock boosts experience in the finance, technology, and energy industries.

“We believe that his experience will help us achieve our goals of driving the digitization of payments and financial inclusion in the region,” Visa Senior Vice President and Head of Sub-Saharan Africa Aida Diarra said.

“His appointment is in line with our vision to continue to build a solid regional team by matching unique strengths and talents with critical business opportunities,” she added.

Before, Pollock served as Vice President and Head of Global Client Strategy & Operations at Visa.

Within the period, he is credited with advancing business analytics and commercial operations for Visa’s largest international clients.

The new EA GM holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering Management.
