Vietnam’s automobile imports decline in first 11 months

HANOI, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) — Vietnam imported 111,278 cars worth 2.65 billion U.S. dollars in the first 11 months of this year, down 26.6 percent in volume and 22 percent in value year on year, Vietnam News Agency reported Monday, citing the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Thailand, Indonesia, and China were the biggest car suppliers to Vietnam during the cited period, according to the report.

In November alone, the number of completely built-up cars imported into Vietnam reached 7,508, equivalent to 192.81 million dollars.

Last year Vietnam imported 173,467 automobiles worth 3.84 billion dollars in total, an increase of 8.5 percent in volume and 5.1 percent in value compared to 2021, according to General Department of Vietnam Customs data.
