Airtel targets content creators with new data plans

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 15 – Airtel Kenya today introduced affordable bundle plans targeting content creators such as TikTokers.

Dubbed ‘A Reason to Imagine’, those into YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram will also enjoy it.

The new brand campaign replaces the previous tagline, ‘the smartphone network’, which has been used for a long time.

“I believe the power of this campaign is its ability to inspire the dreams and aspirations of young people,” said Airtel Managing Director Ashish Malhotra.

“Our new positioning will further enhance the ‘A reason to imagine’ your ability to achieve your dreams through our dynamic solutions,” the MD added.

The company also introduced VOLTE and a new bundle package going for Sh50 that lasts for 24 hours.

VOLTE is set to enable all Airtel customers to make calls in an improved way with the same call rates once they enable it on their respective handsets.

The launch of this series of new products to its consumers was preceded by the launch of yet another similar product last month dubbed ‘Chaguo Langu’ (My Plan), which incorporates small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), corporations, startups, and individuals.

The telco gives signals of being on a charm offensive to woo more customers to use its network, with the aim of toppling its rivals in the telecommunications industry.

The company further states that it is keen on launching one hundred and fifty new sites to incorporate the ever-changing dynamics of the market.

“Futuristic brands should embrace this change of environment and ever evolving consumer. Therefore, Airtel as a brand is changing its purpose to align with the current trends,” added Ashish.
