Form 4 student losses testicle after beating by teachers over exam cheating

KISII, Kenya, Apr 11 – Police officers in Kisii have launched an investigation over the assault of a form four student at Nyabisia secondary school in Nyamache subcounty which left one of his testicles destroyed completely.

The student lost his testicle following an injury he incurred Saturday evening during a corporal punishment from his teachers after he was found cheating in the exams.

The candidate was in possession of scribbled notes during a Business paper exam when the invigilator, a mathematics teacher, hauled him into the office where he , three other teachers and a guard brutalized him causing the scrotal injury.

He was taken Ogembo Hospital and later reffered to Hema Level five hospital where he underwent a minor surgery to remove the damaged testicle.

Doctors who attended to him said the testicle was severely ruptured during the flogging forcing the removal.

“I admit my mistake of cheating in the exams, I was caught by our Maths teacher whisked out to the staff room and all the teachers who were present started beating me using electric cables, kicks and blows they almost killed me,” narrated the student.

He said he was tied up with a rope onto the office table by the teachers as they beat him up.

He started bleeding heavily from his testicle and penis while in class forcing the teachers to seek medical attention.

Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kasses said they have also begun investigations.
Police filled the P3 form and police officers were deployed to make arrest of the said teachers.

“We have launched investigation and already sent our officers to finalize investigations,” Said Kasses
