NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 27 – The Project Management Institute Global Summit Series will be held in Cape Town from September 14 to 15, 2026, bringing together project professionals, government officials and business leaders to discuss infrastructure, innovation and project delivery across Africa.
The summit follows last year’s event in Kigali, which attracted more than 1,000 participants. Organisers said this year’s theme, “Africa Delivers M.O.R.E Together,” will focus on collaboration, leadership and improving execution of major projects across the continent.
According to PMI Sub-Saharan Africa Managing Director George Asamani, Africa’s biggest challenge is not lack of funding but shortage of well-prepared and bankable projects.
The summit will also address the growing demand for skilled project professionals, with PMI estimates showing Sub-Saharan Africa could see project management demand rise by up to 75 percent by 2035.
Discussions at the Cape Town summit are expected to cover infrastructure delivery, artificial intelligence in project management, sustainability and skills development, as governments and private sector players seek to improve execution of large-scale projects driving Africa’s economic growth.
