Burna Boy drops new song celebrating Africa’s sports stars

JAN 17 – Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has released a new single, “For Everybody,” alongside a music video created in partnership with Sporty Group, celebrating Africa’s rich sports heritage and cultural influence.

The video features some of Africa’s most recognisable athletes and football figures, including Eduardo Camavinga, Nico and Iñaki Williams, Kenya’s former captain Victor Wanyama, Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy, Didier Drogba, Claude Makelele, Asisat Oshoala, Cheslin Kolbe and others. The project blends music, sport, fashion and choreography into a visual tribute to African pride and excellence.

Directed by award-winning American filmmaker Dave Meyers, with choreography by Shay Latukolan and production by Sporty Studios, the film captures the emotion, energy and resilience that define African sport. Through powerful imagery and movement, the video highlights themes of unity, legacy and global impact.

The song is available on Burna Boy’s and SportyTV’s YouTube channels and was released ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2026 final between Morocco and Senegal. Burna Boy is also set to perform the track live at the AFCON Last Dance event at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat on Friday evening.

“This one is for the culture — for everyone carrying our sound, spirit and story around the world,” Burna Boy said.

Director Dave Meyers said the project was an honour, describing Africa as a continent defined by “extraordinary cultural richness, beauty and diversity.”

The release marks the first full collaboration between Burna Boy and Sporty Group, following teaser campaigns that generated global interest. The music video is now available on Sporty Group’s YouTube channel.
