Malaysia’s jobs up 1.7pc in Q3

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — The number of jobs in Malaysia rose 1.7 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025 with a new record of 9.16 million jobs, official data showed Thursday.

The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement that a total of 97.8 percent of jobs were filled, whereas 2.2 percent remained vacant.

The number of filled jobs continued its growth in this quarter to record 8.97 million filled jobs.

All economic sectors recorded positive year-on-year growth, with the services sector enjoying the highest growth of 2.4 percent.

According to the DOSM, Malaysia’s economy is currently experiencing steady growth, benefitting from ongoing technological adoption and workforce expansion.
