2nd Halal Business Expo to link firms with investors

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 5 – Kenya is preparing to host the second annual Sharia Compliance and Halal Business Expo, slated for October 10–12 at BBS Mall, Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The event will bring together companies from Islamic finance, agribusiness, tourism, real estate, fashion, and technology, creating a platform for SMEs to connect with corporates, investors, and regional partners.

Organizers say the expo aims to position Kenya as a regional hub for ethical enterprise and innovation in the fast-growing halal economy.

Held under the theme “Empowering Ethical Enterprise for a Sustainable Future,” the three-day expo will promote sustainable economic growth through Sharia-based business principles of integrity, innovation, and inclusivity.

“Our aim is to bring together investors and the community to explore opportunities in halal trade and innovation,” said Ridwan Yusuf, CEO of the Sharia Compliance and Halal Business Expo.

He noted that this year’s edition will feature exhibitors from seven countries, including participants from East Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

“Halal is way bigger than food—it includes real estate, cosmetics, fashion, and even finance that adhere to zero-interest and ethical compliance principles,” Yusuf added, noting that Sharia-compliant business models are open to all entrepreneurs, regardless of faith.

Josphat Nyongesa, Director at TJ Premier Events Limited, the co-organizer, said the expo will feature over 100 exhibitors and attract more than 3,000 delegates.

“Our focus is on empowering enterprises and encouraging ethical business practices,” he said.

Now in its second year, the Sharia Compliance and Halal Business Expo is fast becoming a signature event in Kenya’s business calendar, driving dialogue, investment, and partnerships across the expanding halal economy.
