NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 3 – The heads of Kenya’s key competition authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to regional collaboration on competition regulation and consumer protection during the 73rd Antitrust Law Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C.
Willard Mwemba, CEO of the Competition and Consumer Authority of Kenya (CCC), and David Kemei, Director General of the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK), met on the sidelines of the global event to emphasize the need for deeper cooperation between their institutions for mutual benefit.
“The heads of the two institutions had the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to continuing collaboration on competition regulation and consumer protection in Kenya and the COMESA region as a whole,” read a joint statement from the meeting.
The annual summit brings together global leaders in antitrust law to discuss best practices, emerging challenges, and regulatory innovations. Mwemba and Kemei underscored the importance of regional partnerships in fostering fair competition policies that drive sustainable economic growth.
