HR exam body launches three-exam series, over 1,800 sit April tests nationwide

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 9 – The Human Resource Management Professionals Examinations Board (HRMPEB) has launched its first-ever April sitting of the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) exams, with over 1,800 candidates participating across the country.

Running from April 9 to 16, the exams mark a major shift for Kenya’s HR profession as HRMPEB rolls out a three-series exam calendar, with additional sittings scheduled for August and December each year.

Previously, the exams were only administered twice annually, in June and December.

“This is a major milestone for our HR professionals,” said HRMPEB CEO CHRP Margaret Nguu during the commencement of the April 2025 Exams series.

“By offering more exam series, HRMPEB is creating more opportunities to advance careers and meet the growing demands of the market.”

HRMPEB has 14 exams center countrywide including Nairobi, Kisumu, Kakamega, Eldoret, Mombasa, Nanyuki, Nyandarua, Nakuru, and Thika. Candidates are sitting for both CHRP and CBET Diploma and Certificate exams.

HRMPEB says the expanded exam schedule aligns with global best practices and is part of its broader mission to enhance flexibility, accessibility, and professional growth in the human resource field.

The Board reiterated its commitment to producing competent, ethical, and globally competitive HR professionals who are equipped to drive Kenya’s workforce transformation in a rapidly evolving job market.
