Text Book Centre opens second store out of Nairobi in Kiambu

SEP 21 – Text Book Centre (TBC), an educational and office supplies conglomerate, is targeting residents of Kiambu County with a new store in Ruiru.

The Nord Ruiru store is TBC’s second facility to be opened outside of Nairobi and thirteenth nationally.

TBC CEO Sachin Varma said that the expansion is meant to meet growing demand for quality educational resources.

“Our presence here in Ruiru is a testament to our commitment to support this growth, ensuring that students and educators have access to the best materials and resources,” said Varma.

Apart from books, art, and stationery, TBC also offers a wide range of tech products, including laptops, printers, and other essential electronic devices.

“Each item in our catalog is carefully selected to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and authenticity. We believe that when students and professionals use genuine tech products, they enhance their productivity and protect their investments,” he explained.

Ruiru boosts a growing population as well as economy in Kiambu County, highlighting its market potential for brands such as TBC, among others.

Similarly, the education sector this year received the lion share of the national budget of Sh628.6 billion for the 2023/24 financial year, representing 27.4 percent of planned national expenditure.

“We are glad that by Text Book Centre opening their doors here, they are providing our dynamic population with the tools they need to succeed, whether in academics or their professional lives,” said Emily Nyaga, Deputy Director of Education, Kiambu County.
