NAIROBI, Kenya, July 20 – PrideInn Hotel yesterday evening an eco-friendly restaurant, Sayari, to support the government’s sustainability agenda.
The launch is part of the hotel chain’s growth strategy, which comes after rebranding last November.
The Sayari restaurant, which means ‘planet’ and is located at the PrideInn Westlands outlet, also plays into the firm’s long-term energy efficiency strategy.
PrideInn Hotels, Resorts & Camps Managing Director Mr. Hasnain Noorani, OGW highlighted the chain’s dedication to eco-friendly practices in line with Kenya’s vision for environmental conservation.
“A lot of the materials we are using are all eco-friendly. We have a goal of planting one million trees in our small ways of conserving the environment,” he said.
He revealed that PrideInn is creating open spaces to replace air conditioners, which will significantly reduce the chain’s energy consumption.
Additionally, the hotel group is working on a solar project to complement its energy sources and is phasing out the use of plastics across its properties.
“As a company, we feel it is our responsibility as Kenyans to work towards sustainability. We want to be a company that cares for our environment,” he added.
The Sayari restaurant offers an all-day dining experience with a diverse array of cuisines.
The chain currently has eight hotels spread across Mombasa, Maasai Mara and Nairobi, with plans to expand in other parts of the country.
