NAIROBI, Kenya, July 24 – Nominated Member of Parliament (MP) John Mbadi has been picked to be the new National Treasury Cabinet Secretary by President William Ruto.
Mbadi, who is in his fourth term as a legislator, will be taking over from Njuguna Ndung’u, who was shown the door by the President recently.
The new nominee is a certified public accountant of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Commerce as well as a Masters of Business Administration.
Prior to joining the National Assembly, Mbadi served as Medair East Africa South Sudan Programme Finance Director.
He also worked as a Nairobi University senior accountant.
His appointment has now been forwarded to the Parlimanet for vetting and approval.
Other CS nominees include Hassan Ali Joho (Mining), Salim Mvurya (Investment, Trade and Invest), Rebecca Miano (Tourism and Wildlife), James Wandayi (Energy), and Alfred Mutua (Labour and Social Protection).
Wyclife Oparanya (Cooperatives), and Justin Muturi (Public Service, Gender, Arts and Heritage) are also on the list.
