India’s forex reserves rise to 648.562 bln USD

NEW DELHI, April 12 (Xinhua) — India’s foreign exchange (forex) reserves further rose by 2.98 billion U.S. dollars to 648.562 billion U.S. dollars in the week ended April 5, according to the weekly statistics issued by the country’s central bank the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday.

This was the seventh consecutive week when India’s forex reserves moved upwards.

The foreign currency assets, a key component of the forex reserves, rose by 549 million U.S. dollars to 571.166 billion U.S. dollars during the cited period, showed the RBI data.

Meanwhile, the gold reserves rose by 2.398 billion U.S. dollars to 54.558 billion U.S. dollars.
