NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 18 – The fourth edition of the regional American Chamber of Commerce Kenya (AmCham) Business Summit will be held from April 24–25, 2024, in Nairobi.
President William Ruto will be the chief guest, leading a government delegation to expand commercial opportunities and markets.
Nearly 1,000 delegates from the US and the East African region are expected.
The summit aims to promote sustainable and inclusive growth while increasing investment in Kenya and East Africa.
“As we celebrate years of shared value and interests, the AmCham Business Summit stands as a beacon of opportunity. We look forward to exploring how we can leverage these opportunities as we stay committed to helping drive investments in East Africa,” said AmCham’s Board President, Peter Ngahu.
Topics such as US-East Africa trade, climate action, digital transformation, and sustainable finance will be covered.
Despite expected economic growth, East African economies face challenges like illicit trade and currency volatility.
In 2022, the US became Kenya’s largest export market, with both countries negotiating a bilateral trade agreement called the Strategic Trade and Investment Partnership.
