RIYADH, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) — Saudi Arabia launched on Monday the “Saudipedia” digital platform during the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX) in Riyadh as part of the Saudi Media Forum activities.
The platform, also referred to as the Saudi encyclopedia, was launched by Saudi Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
It was designed to be a primary reference to the kingdom, providing reliable information in multiple languages, he said.
“Saudipedia aims to become the primary source of information about the leadership, people, history, geography, and culture of Saudi Arabia,” he was quoted as saying.
FOMEX kicked off on Monday as one of the largest specialized media exhibitions in the Middle East, hosting over 200 local and international companies for three days.
It showcases the latest technical, creative, and innovative aspects in all areas of media.
