Safaricom ranked top employer in Kenya, Africa for 3rd time

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 18 – Safaricom is Kenya’s and Africa’s top employer, according to the Top Employers Institute (TEI).

The TEI programme recognized the telco for its human resources (HR) policies and people practices.

Some of the topics surveyed in HR domains are: people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, diversity and inclusion, and employee well-being.

So far, it has certified and recognized over 2,300 top employers in 122 countries across five continents.

“This award is a validation of the strong employer brand that Safaricom has created over the years by providing an agile working environment and numerous opportunities for employees to grow in their chosen crafts,” said Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom PLC.

Since 2022, Safaricom has retained the title for three years.

In November 2023, it was also ranked the 3rd best employer in Africa by Forbes.

TEI is a global firm that recognizes excellence in people practices.

Through the Top Employers Institute Certification Program, participating companies can be validated, certified, and recognized as employers of choice.
