Digify Africa, Meta in drive to boost digital literacy among the youth

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 27 – Digify Africa has collaborated with Meta to roll out an online training programme aimed at boosting digital literacy levels among the youth in Kenya.

The firm hopes to achieve this   through its digital marketing skills course, DigifyPro.

The platform targets to equip the youth with digital skills and competencies to help them start and grow careers in the new digital economy.

Digify Africa project manager Kenya, Celestine Ukpere has observed that  the programme  will help unemployed learners become competent digital marketing professionals with practical experience in social media, analytics, search, SEO, content and UX.

“Using a blended learning approach, we are able to deliver immersive and impactful learning experiences. The programme is designed to up-skill the next generation of digital talent in preparation for jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities across the continent,” she said.

Participants will learn how to amplify business’s online presence, define their social media audience, integrate WhatsApp into their marketing strategy, create content on their phone, understand the customer journey and launch paid ads.

Celestine adds that the practical, hands-on sessions will further help participants develop powerful digital marketing skills for use on Meta platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram for Business.

The firm says that a lot of Kenyans still lack digital literacy, a factor that has hindered the country’s economic growth.

Through the program, youth will Hanes their full economic potential by leveraging the internet to regain the lost potential.

Digify Africa is operating in more than 10 countries in Africa, including Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria and is  a youth-led organization at the fore-front of shaping Africa’s digital future.
