NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 4 – Andrew Cowan, the immediate former Group Managing Director of East African Breweries Limited, has returned to the company to serve as the Group’s Managing Director for Africa Regional Markets.

In a statement, the group’s company secretary Kathryn Maundu said Cowan’s appointment follows his resignation as the group’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on 31st December 2020, effective 1st March 2021.

“The board takes this opportunity to thank Andrew for his visionary leadership, guidance, strategic and vibrant contributions at the board level and wishes him the very best for the future,” said Maundu.
His resignation in December paved the way for the naming of Jane Karuku as the firm’s new Managing Director starting January 2021.

Nayager is currently the Managing Director for Diageo Great Britain where he is responsible for Diageo home market.
” Nayager is based in London and is a member of Diageo Europe Executive team and has extensive experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry, having previously held leadership roles across commercial, supply chain R&D and Marketing positions for Mars and Heinz in Africa,” Maundu added.
