Police launch search for lover of slain Parliament staffer

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 25 – Police in Nairobi have launched a manhunt for a man who is suspected to have killed his girlfriend and fled.

The body of the woman said to be a police officer attached to Parliament’s Police Station was found murdered in her Umoja house by her colleague after she failed to turn up for duty.

Preliminary police investigations have established the house to the slain officer was broken into.

Buru-Buru Division Criminal Investigation Officer who visited the scene found the body of the slain officer lying on her bed with signs of strangulation and had a deep cut on her head with blood stains all over the house.

Police are pursuing the officer’s boyfriend who is said to be the last person to have visited her.

The DCI are working with mobile phone service providers to trace the phone of the deceased, which was stolen and switched off.
