KISUMU, Kenya, Sep 11 — A Pajero belonging to Nyakach MP Adumma Owuor was burnt by unknown people on Saturday night at his rural home.

A store containing maize and tents was also set on fire in the midnight incident.

Kisumu police commander Titus Yoma says that while the public managed to put out the fire at the store, they couldn’t save the vehicle.

He says the vandalism could be linked to the recent suicide of Nyabondo Boys Boarding School Boarding School Head Teacher.

He mentioned the MP in his suicide note as one of those who frustrated him at work.

The MP was however not at home at the time of the incident.

Three years ago the MP’s parents were killed and their bodies set ablaze in their home in an attack he blamed on cattle rustlers on a revenge mission against him.

“I am convinced that the killing of my parents is as a result of my steadfastness in the fight against cattle rustling in the constituency since I took over as the MP in the last general election,” he told reporters at the time.
