NAIROBI, Kenya Jul 10- Kenya Red Cross says no injuries resulted from the burning down of a dorm on Sunday morning at the Itierio Girls High School in Kisii.

According to Kenya Red Cross, the students were attending Sunday morning prayers when the fire happened.

It took the combined effort of fire brigade and community to put out the fire.

This takes place just weeks after students of Itierio Boys High School in Kisii went about setting fire to dorms in protest to being refused permission to watch a Euro 2016 match.

At the time the boys also caused damage to the girls school.

On Friday night similar incidents were reported at the Masii Boys High School and St Don Bosco Boys in Kisii and fortunately there were no injuries in either instance with the Masii fire having started while the boys were out for their supper.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked school administrators to be more empathetic while his Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i announced that the government would not cover the repair costs of student unruliness.
