A statement from the coalition says Bett has been named chairman of the CORD National Campaign Committee while former Kaiti MP Ndambuki is his co-chair.
“I am urging all the members of CORD to now come together and work as a team. We must support each other and we will win this race together,” said Bett.
They will be assisted by Christopher Mandumandu from FORD-Kenya.
The team will co-ordinate all the presidential campaign activities at the Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat and all the national secretariats of the three main parties ODM, WDM, FORD-Kenya and the partner parties.
Until his appointment, Bett served as the ODM National Elections Board chairman where he oversaw chaotic party nominations. Ndambuki was unsuccessful in his bid to gain the Wiper Democratic Movement nomination for the Makueni Senate seat.
The appointments take effect immediately.
Eliud Owalo is the Chief Campaign Manager and Head of the Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat.
This is the second time Cord principals are restructuring their campaign machinery. The Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat first changed in January to incorporate interests of partners in the CORD coalition, to enhance synergy and deliver victory for Kenya.
Andrew Mwavwa, who has been Head of Strategy in the Kalonzo Musyoka for President Secretariat, now becomes the Deputy Head of the Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat while Ken Wanyama, who has been a member of the Moses Wetangula Presidential Campaign Secretariat becomes the Director in Charge of Strategic Alliances and Partnerships in the Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat.
