Today in Munich, Germany, the Huawei Consumer Business Group globally launched the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone series that also includes a special edition, the Porsche Design.

The Mate 9 boasts a five star experience for consumers with innovative improvements in offering high-performance design, redefining speed, intensifying the device’s power, making improvements to mobile photography, and also showcasing a ground-breaking UX.

Here are 5 things that blew me away:

The Mate 9 features currently, the most powerful chipset, Kirin 960, and a high-capacity 4000mAh battery that even your heaviest of users can expect a battery life of a day-and-a-half.

You can SuperCharge your device quickly, the Mate 9 boasts a days use in just 20 minutes of charge and has 50% less heat emission than the S7 Edge. The device has in-built current and temperature monitoring – ensuring stability and safety; to which Richard Yu, CEO Huawei Consumer Business Group, comedically and proudly commented during the launch, “No explosions.”

Better storage defragmentation that promises the device will remain as fast as the day you unboxed it, for a longer period of time.

4k video with directional audio thanks to the 4 in-built microphones.

In addition, in just nine months, Huawei launches the second generation Leica Dual Camera with upgraded dual sensors, improved optical image stabilization, a 4-in-1 Hybrid Auto-focus, and embedded depth ISP.

The Huawei Mate 9 is expected to arrive in Kenya in December 2016. The Mate 9 will cost 699 euros for 4GB + 64GB, whilst the special Porsche Design edition with cost 1,395 euros for 6GB +256GB.
